Free Week - Simplex Subscription
Here is an example week for each simplex subscription to help you decide which subscription level will best suit you. The bottom of the page gives an overview of how to use the resources or visit our FAQ’s for more details.
How to utilise your Simplex subscription.
Every Monday you will have a new worksheet. Look out for 5 week months, they will have some unique bonus worksheets! You can access the entire current month’s worksheets but the previous month will only be available until the first Monday of the next month.
Worksheets
These worksheets are 15 marks each and use real exam questions. It should take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete a worksheet if you are at the right level. If you can complete all worksheets in a month correctly and in under 15 minutes then feel free to cancel your subscription and move up a level (note those taking foundation GCSE cannot go above level 5).
When you have completed your worksheet check out the video solutions. These have explanations, alternate methods, mark scheme notes and examiner insights.
We know that there are lots of different ways of doing maths questions. Our model answers are just one (maybe two) ways of approaching the question. If your answer does not match our video or model solution, take a look at the mark scheme and see if you can find your method. If you feel your answer and method is correct but not covered by our model answers, video solutions or mark scheme, then please send it to us here and we will take a look at it for you.
Video Solutions
Written Solutions
For when you don’t have time for the videos and want a quick check of the answers.
Mark Schemes
These are the official mark schemes from the exams (remember our worksheets are all real exam questions). You probably don’t need to use them, but they are here for you in case you want to check any methods that we haven’t covered on our video and model answers.
Tracker
This gives a list of the topics involved in each worksheet. Try not to peek before completing all questions. The point of the worksheets is that you do not always immediately know what the topic is. Use this information in any way you like. We suggest printing or saving the blank tracker form for each month and filling it in so you can see how you are improving and if there are any topics that you regularly struggle with. Remember that mistakes are good as long as we learn from them. These trackers are designed to get you to think about how you can improve. Don’t forget that there are 3 types of mistakes.
T: Forgot how to do the topic
Resolve: targeted questions and videos for revision. Simplex Videos for each topic coming next year.
Q: Misunderstanding the question
Now you have seen the video answers you realise you do know this topic well, but you didn’t realise that’s what you had to do.
Resolve: keep going. Watch our video solutions, paying attention to how we pick out each step. Don’t feel the need to read the whole question before you start calculating!
S: Silly mistakes
We all do them, don’t worry about it, but do remember it!
Resolve: make a note of the mistake in your tracker (multiplying negatives/times tables/rounding error) so you scan see over time if there are any patterns and you can make steps to be cautious over similar steps in the future.
